Nancy O'Dell started her career in the broadcast industry as a reporter at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. O'Dell later became a morning news anchor for WCBD TV and acted as an investigative reporter. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston concerning how Charleston police dealt with DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict directive for state authorities. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Media Award South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell has worked in Charleston reporting and co-anchor at the NBC Miami WTVJ-TV station before moving to Access Hollywood where she is currently a co-anchor and correspondent during weekends. O'Dell, in addition to anchoring the main show for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She's covered the Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted various pre-show arrivals shows for The Emmys And The Golden Globes. The other shows she has hosted include the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
